Burry Port at Night

I have long been interested in urban night-time photography, employing only available light to create the desired atmosphere. Using street lights, neon signs, vehicle headlights, and particularly the interior shop and business lighting, I am able focus on the primary element of the shot, the colours, shapes and details of the buildings.

When shooting at dusk, using only available light, one has the ability to see the subject in greater detail, and not to be distracted by the clutter of the surroundings, it also draws one’s attention to the main topic of the photograph. It is interesting to photo-capture people interacting with the environment as silhouettes without the need to identify the subject.

Despite my camera settings producing significant ‘noise’ due to extremely high ISOs, it was a great experience to capture and highlight ‘Burry Port at Night”.

For anyone who may be interested, these are the details of camera equipment and settings:

Nikon D850 + Sigma ART 50mm f1.8
