Tour of Britain 2018

The Tour of Britain 2018 started in my ‘back garden’, which provided me with a great opportunity to stroll down to Pembrey Country Park to record the event.

Locating myself at the start of the event on the A484 enabled me to capture the build-up of team coaches, Police motorcycles and outriders and the excitement of the whole event. I was so impressed with the interest shown by local people and one guy I spoke to had travelled over from the Gower to witness the event.

At one point Police motorcycles just kept exiting the Park, which had the appearance of them being on a giant loop, exiting the Park several times.

My friend ‘Sally dogs’ lives at my chosen location and kindly leant me a set of steps to provide additional height. She also provided a cup of tea and some cake.

After what seemed like a lot of hanging-around the lead cars and motorcycles appeared around the corner and the competitors came into view and then in a few seconds disappeared again and were gone. After a while the road was reopened and traffic resumed. Just the bunting remained and a few stragglers.
