Burry Port Drummin’ Fun

I approached Terry, who organises the ‘Drummin’ Fun’, to obtain his, and the band’s, permission to photograph the group’s performance on a beautiful sunset evening on Burry Port West Beach.

Terry provides an opportunity for the participants to experience a multitude of different drums, all with tuition, and encourages lively involvement in the group session.

The event I attended was to experience beach drumming and to witness the Full Buck Moon.

The concept of Drummin’ FUN was first launched in Burry Port in 2022, and sessions are held every-other Wednesday in Burry Port Yacht Club from 19:00 ~ 20:30 hrs.

The sessions are free, each one having a dissimilar theme e.g., Meditation, Self-Healing, Positive Thinking.

It’s claimed that group drummin’ can “lower stress” with the drum beats and help one to relax.

It was undoubtedly evident that all the participants enjoyed themselves immensely, as did the impromptu audience on the beach and seafront.

I was informed that the participants can bring their own drums, or Terry can lend-out a drum for the evening. Terry kicks-off the evening with a warm-up session before he launches into some foot tapping drum music.

I thoroughly enjoyed the evening, and I highly recommend joining one of the Drummin’ sessions.

Terry informed me that his objective is for everyone to enjoy the friendly ‘FUN’ sessions and the health benefits of drumming, that even beginners can experience, and to share the group ‘energy’.
